Hi 2nd and 3rd graders (and parents),
As we head into this last trimester of the school year, there are a few changes to the art curriculum. This trimester, art will be a pass/no pass grade. I will continue to offer the Zoom art classes on Tuesdays and Fridays at 2:30pm. These are not mandatory, simply a great opportunity to be creative during our time at home.
Your art grade will be based on a separate weekly art project to complete on your own time. Our expectation is that you complete a minimum of 4 of the 6 independent study projects between now and the end of the school year. There will be weekly reminders for each project. Please note: each week's project will be discussed -- and in most cases -- completed in the Tuesday Zoom class.
Each project should take a minimum of 45 minutes. To turn them in, please take a photo of the work and email it to me. (I’m also hoping to create an online gallery in the coming weeks.)
You can contact me at any time at [email protected].
Please click on each week for a link with directions and examples.
WEEK ONE: INSPIRATION ART
WEEK TWO: HOUSEHOLD OBJECT ART
WEEK THREE: NEIGHBORHOOD MAP
WEEK FOUR: FAVORITE OBJECT STILL LIFE
WEEK FIVE: COLOR WHEEL PROJECT
WEEK SIX: THE MET TOUR-INSPIRED ART
BONUS: FAMOUS PAINTING RECREATION
